The FOMS management team consists of thirteen members all of whom have been handpicked to ensure that FOMS clients have the best possible people charged with the management of their forests. Many of FOMS staff have held senior roles with the large New Zealand corporate forest companies including Rayonier, Fletcher Challenge Forests, Carter Holt Harvey, PF Olsen, Juken New Zealand and Weyerhauser New Zealand. This combined level of qualifications and experience ensures that FOMS can offer a service which we believe is second to none in the region.
Business Development Manager
Vince joined the team at the start of 2018. Vince’s previous roles include Rural Manager and Senior Management roles within a NZ bank. Vince comes from a farming background in Central North Island and is currently based out of Whanganui.
Vince manages the acquisition of our new customers and works in conjunction with the Operations Managers.
Operations Manager, West Coast
Stuart joined FOMS as an Operations Manager in 2010. Stuart’s previous roles include Operations Manager of a large privately owned company managing cable harvesting, & ground based crews plus forestry road construction crews operating in the Napier, Gisborne & Wellington areas.
Stuart has managed all facets of the Health and Safety System requirements including staff training & monthly reporting to Forest Managers. This strong focus on Health & Safety systems has flowed through to his current role and he has been influential in the formation and implementation of FOMS Health & Safety systems.
Operations Manager, Taranaki & Wanganui Regions
Glen joined FOMS in 2018 and in based out of Strafford in Taranaki. Glen spent 8 years as a self employed Silverculture contractor which included scrub cutting, planting, spraying, pruning and completing formal inventory records. Following that Glen spent 10 years working for the Taranaki Regional Council as an Investigating officer which also included forestry. Glen is a current member of the New Zealand National Response team for oil spills.
Operations Manager, Wairarapa
Stuart joined FOMS in 2011 and manages harvesting operations in the Wairarapa and Hawke’s Bay regions. Stuart has previously owned a harvesting and earthworks company which operated throughout the Wairarapa. Stu has extensive experience in machine operation, harvesting and road construction.
Geoff joined the FOMS team in 2016 after working 12 years as a Resource management professional in both local govt and the private sector. Geoff has significant knowledge of the RMA and local govt policy, rules and regulations. Geoff manages the FOMS environmental programme and forestry activities under the government’s new National Environmental Standards for Plantation Forestry (NES – PF)
Operations Manager and Wood Purchase
Stacy has joined FOMS after successfully running his own harvesting business for 17 years. As well as strong harvesting skills, Stacy brings excellent logistical skills in his new role sourcing wood for FOMS.
Morris joined the team in 2018. Morris comes to the FOMS team with extensive experience and knowledge, Morris has over 20 years within the NZ forestry industry which includes planning, harvesting and marketing roles throughout a number of locations within the North Island. Morris currently lives in Taupo and works out of the Rotorua office.
Operations Manager and Woodflow Co-ordinator
Blake joined FOMS in a fulltime role in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Forestry Science degree with first class honors. Blake manages harvesting operations in the SNI from Manawatu down to Wellington.
Blake also controls the domestic woodflow for the company, ensuring forest owners have equal opportunities to supply local markets and maximise their forests value recovery.
National Operations Manager
Rowan joined the team in 2018. Rowan’s previously worked for Hancock Forest Management where he was National Operations Manager. Rowan has experience working with Timber Investment Management organisations (TIMO’s). Rowan has a wealth of experience in organisations that work for these large Forest Investment Entities. Rowan has extensive operational knowledge around forest operations, health and safety and HR. Rowan is based out of Tauranga.
Operations Manager and Wood Purchase
A local from the Brynderwyns, Lance Aukett, manages FOMS in the Northland region. He has a strong background in quarrying, earthmoving, and road construction management throughout Northland.
Lance has owned his own road construction company since 2002, until branching into harvesting in 2010. He has had his own harvesting crews operating for the past 5 years, concentrating on ground based operations in clear fell and road line from South Auckland up to the mid north.
Until his recent employment by FOMS, Lance has managed and marketed his own timber from small woodlots to commercial harvesting operations. Lance’s local knowledge and experience will provide an excellent focal point for FOMS in our bid to provide professional forest management opportunities to private forest owners in the Northland region.
Franco is the Operations Manager for the Northland area and a local of Whangarei, his role is log procurement and forest harvest management. Franco has been working in around forests for the last 12 years and has extensive knowledge of erosion and sediment control as was previously the land use monitoring officer for the Northland Regional Council. Franco worked in conjunction with the Northland forestry industry to develop a forestry guideline for Northland.
Operations Manager – East Coast
Jason joined FOMS in May of 2016. Having spent over 15 years working for Olsens in the Gisborne Area. Jason has a significant background in Forest Management, silviculture and other forest land management activities.
Jason hails from a dry stock farm in Northern Hawke’s Bay and is now a Gisborne local. Has a wealth of local experience in Forest Management in the East Coast area.
Operations Manager – Health and Safety
Paul joined FOMS in 2016 as our Health and Safety Champion. Paul is a dry stock farmer from the Whanganui area and an ex harvesting business owner. Paul’s experience in day to day harvesting and roading operations provides solid support to our Health and Safety Compliance and Management.
Murray joined FOMS in May of 2016. Murray is a qualified Chartered Accountant having worked in a range of commercial roles across Fruit Export, Mining Industry and Aircraft Leasing.
Murray heads up our Commercial and Admin Team.
Jo joined FOMS on day one and has been managing our administration since that time.
Suzanne commenced working with FOMS in June 2010 and has provided excellent administrative support to Jo and the FOMS team.
